Albert Grady of Baton Rouge was just "one number off" of winning the June 27 Louisiana Lottery Lotto jackpot. "I would’ve gotten the whole jackpot!" he exclaimed after finding out his ticket matched 5 of the 6 winning numbers. He did not walk away empty handed, though; the match-5 prize for that drawing was $2,804.

After moving to Baton Rouge from Alabama eight years ago, Grady said he had been playing Lotto off and on, often waiting for a "good size," referring to the $550,000 cash jackpot up for grabs in the June 27 drawing.

Grady indicated this was his first time winning a large amount of money playing the Lottery’s flagship game. In the past he would occasionally win small amounts like $50, which can be cashed at a Lottery retailer.

With his new-found winnings, Grady said he planned to save some and perhaps reward himself with a new set of golf clubs.
"If you don’t play, you can’t win," Grady shared.

Grady purchased his winning ticket at Circle K on Bluebonnet Boulevard in Baton Rouge. The winning numbers for the June 27 drawing were 08-23-25-32-35-40.

Lottery ticket purchasers must be at least 21 years of age. Draw-style game tickets must be claimed within 180 days of the drawing. Anyone who may have a gambling problem or friends and family of anyone with a gambling problem should call toll free 1-877-770-7867 for help.

For security purposes, the Lottery strongly encourages players to sign the back of their tickets immediately after purchasing. More information about Lotto and other jackpot winners can be found on the Lottery’s website, www.louisianalottery.com/lotto.
