BATON ROUGE – Kirklin Leboeuf of Raceland was on a cruise to Cozumel when he had a feeling that he’d purchased the lucky jackpot-winning ticket for the Nov. 2 Easy 5 drawing, so he checked with his son back home to be sure.

“I kept joking with my son and told him to check my glove box because I knew the winning ticket was in there,” said Leboeuf. “It turns out, I was right!”

The 56-year-old’s winning ticket matched all five numbers to win the $625,853 jackpot prize, which he claimed Tuesday at Louisiana Lottery headquarters. The winning numbers were 11-13-18-25-29. He also matched two of five numbers and three of five numbers on two additional plays to win $8. Leboeuf’s Easy 5 jackpot prize is the largest in the 12- year history of the game.

Leboeuf received $444,361.31 after state and federal tax withholdings. He said he had no specific plans for his winnings except to go out and have a nice lunch.

The winning ticket was sold at Shop N Gas on Highway 308 in Raceland. The store received a one-time selling bonus of $6,258.53, which is 1% of the prize.

Lottery ticket purchasers must be at least 21 years of age. Draw-style game tickets must be claimed within 180 days of the drawing. Anyone who may have a gambling problem or friends and family of anyone with a gambling problem should call toll free 1-877-770-7867 for help.

For security purposes, the Lottery strongly encourages players to sign the back of their tickets immediately after purchasing. More information about Easy 5 and other jackpot winners can be found on the Lottery’s website, www.louisianalottery.com/easy-5.
