Patterson was one of two players who matched all five of the winning numbers from that night's drawing to win half of the $50,000 Easy 5 jackpot.
"I checked my numbers and all five matched," said the 53 year old Greensburg resident. "I couldn't believe I'd won, so I walked out of the store. Then I turned around and went back in to check them again."
He purchased his winning ticket at Whispering Pines C Store on Highway 10 in Greensburg. Whispering Pines C Store will receive a one-time selling bonus of $250, or 1 percent of half the jackpot prize. The second jackpot-winning ticket from the March 7 Easy 5 drawing was purchased at Circle K #9727 on Plank Road in Baton Rouge. |
