Cindy Juarez of Morgan City claimed a $20,000 Powerball prize at the Lottery's Lafayette office.
Juarez said it feels "great" to win and plans to pay bills with her winnings.
Juarez's ticket matched four of the five white-ball numbers drawn, but missed the red Powerball number to win $10,000. Because she added the Power Play option to her ticket for an additional $1, her prize was multiplied by two when the Power Play number "2" was selected during the drawing, bringing her total winnings to $20,000.
Juarez purchased her winning ticket from Wag A Pak on Highway 90 in Patterson.
