Louisiana Lottery’s Sizzlin’ Summer Lyrics Facebook Promotion Rules
Louisiana residents who are at least 21 years of age are invited to submit a set of song lyrics about their favorite Louisiana Lottery game for a chance to win tickets to Bayou Country Superfest in Baton Rouge on May 25. Entries for the Sizzlin’ Summer Lyrics promotion will be accepted only through the Lottery’s designated application on Facebook May 16-19. Three winners will be selected from those eligible to receive a Sizzlin’ Summer Package including a Louisiana Lottery grill kit and two (2) Sizzlin’ 7’s scratch-off tickets as well as two (2) Lottery suite tickets to Bayou Country Superfest. The winning lyrics will be shared on the Lottery’s Facebook Timeline.
How to Enter:
Eligible participants can submit entries for the Louisiana Lottery’s Sizzlin’ Summer Lyrics promotion beginning Thursday, May 16. Entries must be submitted electronically through the Lottery’s designated application on Facebook by midnight, Sunday, May 19 to be considered.
Participation requires the user to “Like” the Louisiana Lottery on its Facebook page and to accept the contest terms and conditions. No entries will be accepted in person, by mail or through any method other than the Lottery’s designated Facebook application.
All required information on the contest entry form must be completed in full, and entries may not be changed or altered once submitted. Incomplete or inappropriate entries will be disqualified at the Lottery’s sole discretion. Each participant may enter the contest only once.
All contest participants agree to comply with these rules and accept the Lottery’s interpretation of them in executing the contest.
Lyrics must be at least four lines long and may not exceed 20 lines.
The lyrics are required to be tasteful and clean. No derogatory, defamatory or foul language will be accepted. The Louisiana Lottery reserves the right to disqualify any entry that it feels is negative in any way toward any individual, place, race, religion, sexual orientation, age, gender or any other demographic.
Participants also have the option of uploading a video as a secondary support for their entry, but a video is not required and cannot be used to substitute a written entry.
One or more representatives of the Lottery will judge eligible entries and select up to five winning sets of lyrics that they feel are most creative.
Up to five winners will be notified via the email address and phone number provided on their entry by 4 p.m. on Monday, May 20. Winners have two business days after any form of attempted communication by the Lottery to verify their eligibility status or their prize will be forfeited; the Lottery may, at its discretion, assign an alternate winner in those cases.
Three winners will be selected from those eligible to receive a Sizzlin’ Summer Package including a Louisiana Lottery grill kit and two (2) Sizzlin’ 7’s scratch-off tickets as well as two (2) Lottery suite tickets to Bayou Country Superfest in Baton Rouge on May 25.
Up to four additional entries will be selected as runners-up from those eligible to receive a Sizzlin’ Summer Package including a Louisiana Lottery grill kit and two (2) Sizzlin’ 7’s scratch-off tickets.
The Sizzlin’ Summer Lyrics winners and their guests are responsible for all other costs, including transportation, lodging, etc. they may require.
The prizes have no cash value and are nontransferable. The winners and guests must be at least 21 years old.
Winners are subject to a Code of Conduct waiver and agree to the terms and conditions as they will be representative of the Louisiana Lottery.
All contest entrants attest that they are submitting original lyrics they produced themselves that are not copied in whole or in part from any work other than their own. Contest entrants agree their lyrics do not violate copyright, trademark, privacy, publicity or other proprietary rights of any person or entity, and that their lyrics are their sole, exclusive work.
All participants entering this contest agree to grant the Louisiana Lottery royalty-free, world-wide, perpetual, non-exclusive rights to display, distribute, reproduce, modify and create derivative works of the entries for any purpose -- trade, advertising, promotional or otherwise -- and in any electronic, print or other media (now existing or subsequently developed) the Lottery chooses, now or at any time in the future, should their entry be selected as a contest winner. If a dispute arises over the identity of a participant who submitted an entry, the authorized account holder of the email account associated with the entry will be deemed the participant.
The Louisiana Lottery will not be required to pay any additional costs or seek additional approval in connection with such aforementioned uses. Once submitted, all entries become the property of the Louisiana Lottery.
In addition, all entrants agree to participate in the Lottery's publicity efforts in conjunction with this contest, including but not limited to photo publication, press releases, interviews and media coverage. The grand prize winner may also be required to adhere to additional items, including a release of liability and those terms associated with ticket media.
Entrants also acknowledge that in matters of administering the contest, the decisions of the Louisiana Lottery Corporation are binding and final.
The Louisiana Lottery's Sizzlin’ Summer Lyrics contest is open to Louisiana residents at least 21 years of age. Residency and age will be verified prior to announcing winners. The following individuals are excluded from participating in this contest:
a. Any member of the Board of Directors, officer or employee of the Louisiana Lottery Corporation.
b. Any spouse, child, brother, sister or parent residing in the same household of any Louisiana Lottery employee, officer or member of the Board of Directors.
c. Any employee of any company or vendor awarded a contract or subcontract to conduct business with, assigned to perform services for or provide goods to the Louisiana Lottery for any duration in the 2013 calendar year. This includes but is not limited to advertising agencies, gaming system vendors, printers, auditors, promotional product suppliers, etc.
d. Any spouse, child, brother, sister or parent residing in the same household of any company or vendor awarded a contract or subcontract to conduct business with, assigned to perform services for or provide goods to the Louisiana Lottery for any duration in the 2013 calendar year.
Any person who falls into one of the categories listed above or who does not meet the age and residency requirements will be deemed ineligible to participate.
