Club Lotteaux Parade Ride Giveaway



Nikki Jones of New Orleans celebrated Mardi Gras with quite a different view this year. The 16-year veteran of the New Orleans Police Department had the opportunity to ride in the Krewe of Thor parade in Metairie Sunday, Jan. 27. We usually have to work the parades, said Jones, who was excited to share the experience with her guest and fellow officer, Shannon Reeves. Through the Louisiana Lottery's free online players club, Club Lotteaux, Jones registered for and won a pair of parade-ride tickets. 

Jones and Reeves were greeted by Lottery officials at the New Orleans Regional Office to receive their prize package. "She still hasn't stopped thanking me for inviting her!" said Jones of her friend, Reeves. "I'm just so thankful," said Reeves, "it's such a nice gesture," she
added. The two women said they formed a close bond
after working during Hurricane Katrina together.

The Krewe of Thor provided Jones and her guest with throws and festive Mardi Gras costumes. "We had a T-shirt, hats and masks. It was great!" said Jones, who has been a member of Club Lotteaux since it was established.
