Lottery Celebrates Louisiana’s Bicentennial with Scratch-Off

Louisiana Lottery President Rose Hudson unveils the Lottery's scratch-off game "Lovin' Louisiana – 200 Years" during a reception hosted by the Louisiana Bicentennial Commission at the Old State Capitol Wednesday night.
Louisiana Lottery President Rose Hudson unveils the Lottery's scratch-off game "Lovin' Louisiana – 200 Years" during a reception hosted by the Louisiana Bicentennial Commission at the Old State Capitol Wednesday night.
In commemoration of Louisiana's 200 years of statehood, the Louisiana Lottery will launch a $2 scratch-off game, aptly named Lovin' Louisiana - 200 Years, on March 19.

"We couldn't think of a better way to celebrate our state's culturally diverse history than with a game highlighting what makes Louisiana unique," said Lottery President Rose Hudson. "If there's one thing that unites our players, it's their love for Louisiana!"

Featuring images of a fleur-de-lis, crawfish, pelican, riverboat, cayenne pepper and a magnolia, the ticket was unveiled Wednesday at a reception hosted by the Louisiana Bicentennial Commission at the Old State Capitol in Baton Rouge.

"The Lottery is pleased to contribute to the fanfare and attention surrounding the state's bicentennial by sponsoring and promoting the commissions' efforts," Hudson noted.

Lovin' Louisiana - 200 Years features four top prizes of $10,000 and a play style that is familiar to players.

To encourage interest in Louisiana's bicentennial and spread awareness among members of its online communities, the Lottery will conduct themed promotions throughout the month.

Wednesday's reception was one of many statewide events being held in 2012 to highlight the state's history and showcase its culture. A list of those events can be found on the commission's website: http://www.louisianabicentennial2012.com/.

The minimum age to purchase a Lottery ticket is 21.  The Lottery encourages those who may have a gambling problem or friends and family of anyone with a gambling problem to call toll-free 1-877-770-7867.  Information about the Louisiana Lottery Corporation, including current scratch-off games, can be found on its website, http://www.louisianalottery.com/.
