Maurice Resident Claims $100,000 Top Prize from Hot Streak

Arthur Ray Thibodeaux Jr., along with his wife Bonnie, claims a $100,000 top prize from a “Hot Streak” scratch-off at the Lottery’s Lafayette office.
Arthur Ray Thibodeaux Jr. of Maurice isn't sure what prompted him to purchase a Hot Streak scratch-off from the Lottery besides feeling drawn to it.  That feeling paid off in a big way when the Hot Streak ticket he purchased turned out to be a $100,000 top prize winner.

"I was waiting for my change from the clerk and I said to myself 'let me try one of those,'" explained Thibodeaux. "It was like I was drawn to that particular game."

Thibodeaux, age 52, said after scratching the ticket in his truck, he went back inside the store to verify how much he actually won.  "The clerk told me how much I won and that I had to claim my prize at a Lottery office," shared Thibodeaux.  "Then she said I turned white as a ghost!"

Thibodeaux purchased his winning scratch-off from Eddie's One Stop on West Veterans Memorial Drive in Erath.  He shared that he plans to use his winnings to purchase a new house for his wife complete with a yellow rose bush.

Hot Streak is a $5 game that features the chance to win 15 times on each ticket.  The game has three $100,000 top prizes remaining as of today.
