3/10/2011 - 12:26 PM Amelia Resident Claims $350,000 Lotto Jackpot Ricardo Cortez Jr. of Amelia was the sole winner of the $350,000 Lotto jackpot from the March 5 drawing.Cortez purchased his winning ticket from Amelia Chevron on Highway 90 East in Morgan City. The retailer will receive a one-time selling bonus of $3,500, or 1 percent of the jackpot prize, for selling Cortez his winning ticket. Cortez, age 50, received $245,000 after state and federal taxes were withheld. The winning numbers for the March 5 Lotto drawing were 18-21-22-30-35-40. Ticket purchasers must be at least 21 years of age.
