New Orleans Resident Claims $990,648 Lotto Jackpot Donald Meilleur of New Orleans claimed the sole jackpot-winning ticket worth $990,648 from the Aug. 21 Lotto drawing by the Louisiana Lottery.
Meilleur purchased his winning ticket from Spur General Meyer on General Meyer Avenue in New Orleans. The Lottery retailer will receive a one-time bonus of $9,906 or one percent of the jackpot prize, for selling Meilleur his winning ticket.
Meilleur, age 72, received $693,453.60 after state and federal taxes were withheld.
The winning numbers for the Aug. 21 Lotto drawing were 01-07-19-22-33-36.
Ticket purchasers must be at least 21 years of age. The Lottery encourages anyone who may have a gambling problem or friends and family of anyone with a gambling problem to call toll free 1-877-770-7867 for help.
For security purposes, the Lottery strongly encourages players to sign the back of their tickets immediately after purchasing.
