Lottery Applauds Efforts to Support Gulf Coast Residents The Louisiana Lottery Corporation applauds efforts by the Our Home, Louisiana Coalition to serve residents affected by the Gulf Coast oil spill. During the summer, the coalition will host a series of free "Coastal Care Fairs" designed to bring employment information, health resources and other assistance to those affected by the Gulf Coast crisis.
Our Home, Louisiana Coalition is a partnership founded by Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Louisiana and supported by nearly a dozen agencies on the state and national level. These organizations are working to improve the health and welfare of residents affected by the oil spill.
Coastal Care Fairs will offer a variety of free services:
Health screenings Employment information Social services programs Stress management & wellness workshops Mental health counseling Public health information Hurricane preparedness tips Children's programs Collection barrels for food, clothing & books
There are 12 Coastal Care Fairs scheduled for the summer. Here are some of the upcoming fairs:
July 12: New Orleans, LA New Orleans Public Library, Martin Luther King Branch 1611 Caffin Ave. 10:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
July 13: Morgan City, LA Morgan City Municipal Auditorium 728 Myrtle St. 10:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
July 27: Houma, LA Terrebonne Parish Library, East Houma 778 Grand Caillou Rd. 10:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
July 30: Boothville, LA Boothville-Venice Elementary School 1 Oiler Dr. 10:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
