Shreveport Man Claims Record-High Easy 5 Jackpot

Edgar Gleason Jr. of Shreveport claimed the $574,003 Easy 5 jackpot at Lottery headquarters Friday morning.  The jackpot for the May 26 drawing was the highest Easy 5 jackpot since the game was relaunched in 2007.

The 82-year-old received $401,802 after federal and state taxes were withheld.  Gleason purchased his winning ticket at Highland C Store on Highland Avenue in Shreveport. The store will receive a one-time selling bonus of $5,740 or 1 percent of the jackpot prize. The winning numbers for the May 26 Easy 5 drawing were 8-19-20-32-34.

Ticket purchasers must be at least 21 years of age.  Draw-style game tickets must be claimed within 180 days of the drawing.  Anyone who may have a gambling problem or friends and family of anyone with a gambling problem should call toll free 1-877-770-7867 for help.  For security purposes, the Lottery strongly encourages players to sign the back of their tickets immediately after purchasing.

More information about other Easy 5 winners can be found in the Meet Our Winners section of the Lottery's website.
