Covington Woman Wins the Lottery's Zulu Trivia Challenge

Caroline Ebert of Covington loves the rich traditions of her home state as well as sharing them with her non-Louisiana-native husband, Charles. This year she will get to do both. Ebert was selected as the winner of the Louisiana Lottery's Zulu Mardi Gras Trivia Challenge, enabling her and a guest to ride in the 2010 Zulu parade in New Orleans on Fat Tuesday.

"I was numb. I was absolutely numb," said Ebert. "I couldn't believe that I had won!"

As part of its partnership with the Zulu Social Aid and Pleasure Club, the Lottery gave away the ride of a lifetime, a ride on a float in the 2010 Zulu Mardi Gras parade for one player and a guest. Ebert was randomly selected on Feb. 1 as the winner of the giveaway by correctly answering all five trivia questions on its Web site.

Ebert said she is most looking forward to seeing the crowd at the parade. "The crowd and having them beg for a coconut. I think that's just going to be so amazing," she said.

Zulu is a $2 scratch-off game that offers players the chance to win up to 10 times on each ticket. All five top prizes of $10,000 are still remaining in the game as of Feb. 14. old to purchase a Lottery ticket or participate in a promotion.  The Lottery encourages anyone who has a gambling problem or friends and family of anyone with a gambling problem to call toll-free 1-877-770-7867 for help.
