Lake Charles Resident Claims $20,014 Powerball Prize from Aug. 20 Drawing

Most Louisiana Lottery players react immediately when they've won. For Marilyn Managault of Lake Charles, it took a few days.

"I didn't realize I won $20,000 from Powerball until five days later," exclaimed Managault, who purchased her ticket from Calcasieu Exxon in Lake Charles. "It really hit me, and I'm so excited!"

Her ticket matched four of the five white ball numbers drawn plus the red Powerball number to win $10,000 for the Aug. 20 drawing. She won $7 on a second ticket. However, Managault purchased the Power Play option on both of her tickets and multiplied her winnings by two when the Power Play number "2" was selected during the drawing.

The winning numbers for the Aug. 20 drawing were 15-16-24-35-47 and the Powerball was 26. Players can add the Power Play option to their tickets for an additional dollar per play for the chance to multiply any non-jackpot prize up to five times depending upon the Power Play number randomly selected during the drawing.
