Three Powerball Prizes from Slidell Area Set to Expire in April

As of today, no one has stepped forward to claim any of the three $10,000 Powerball prizes won in the Slidell area during drawings in October 2007. Each winning ticket matched four of the white numbers drawn plus the red Powerball number.

The winning ticket for the Oct. 10 drawing was purchased at Fleet Travel Center #601 on Voters Road and is set to expire April 7, 2008.  The winning numbers for the Oct. 10 Powerball drawing were 12-16-31-33-54 and the Powerball number was 5.

The winning ticket for the Oct. 24 drawing was purchased at Grumpy's on Robert Boulevard and is set to expire April 21, 2008. The winning numbers for the Oct. 24 Powerball drawing were 10-11-18-49-52 and the Powerball number was 2.

The winning ticket for the Oct. 27 drawing was purchased at Fremaux Quick Stop on Fremaux Avenue and is set to expire April 24, 2008. The winning numbers for the Oct. 27 Powerball drawing were 13-25-30-40-43 and the Powerball number was 12.

The holder of each winning ticket has until 5 p.m. on the date of expiration to claim the prize, which is subject to applicable federal and state withholdings. Prizes greater than $600 may be claimed at any of the Lottery's five regional offices located throughout the state or at Lottery headquarters in Baton Rouge.

"We look forward to the winners coming forward to claim these prizes. In the meantime, they should treat the ticket as cash," said Lottery President Rose Hudson. "It is also a good idea to sign the back of Lottery tickets for security purposes."

Winners of the Lottery's draw-style games must claim their prize within 180 days of the drawing. After prizes have passed their redemption deadlines, they are deposited into the Lottery's unclaimed prize fund, which is returned to players in the form of increased payouts on scratch-off tickets and player promotions.

Ticket purchasers must be at least 21 years of age.  The Lottery encourages responsible play and urges anyone or friends of anyone with a gambling problem to call toll free 1-877-770-7867 for help.
