11/05/2007 - 11:02 AM Two $10,000 Powerball Prizes Remain Unclaimed As of today, no one has stepped forward to claim either of two $10,000 Powerball prizes won in June and set to expire next month. Both winning tickets were purchased in Slidell.The winning ticket from the June 6 drawing was purchased at Kangaroo Express #3741 on Voters Road in Slidell and is set to expire Dec. 3. The winning ticket from the June 27 drawing was purchased at Liberty Food Store on Bayou Liberty Road in Slidell and is set to expire Dec. 24. The winner of this prize will have until Dec. 26 to claim the prize, as all Lottery offices will be closed Dec. 24 and Dec. 25 in observance of Christmas. Each winning ticket matched four of the white numbers drawn plus the red Powerball. The winning numbers for the June 6 Powerball drawing were 5-9-14-45-48 and the Powerball was 28. The winning numbers for the June 27 Powerball drawing were 9-11-13-24-43 and the Powerball was 18. The holder of each winning ticket has until 5 p.m. on the date of expiration in which to claim the prize, which is subject to applicable federal and state withholdings. Prizes greater than $600 may be claimed at any of the six regional offices located across the state. "We look forward to the winners coming forward to claim the prizes. In the meantime, they should treat their tickets as cash," said Lottery President Rose Hudson. "It is also a good idea to sign the back of the ticket for security purposes." Winners of the Lottery's draw-style games have 180 days from the date of the drawing to claim their prize. After prizes have passed their redemption deadlines, they are deposited into the Lottery's unclaimed prize fund, which is returned to players in the form of increased payouts on scratch-off tickets and player promotions.
