Hammond Resident Claims $21,000 Top Prize from Scratch-Off Ticket

Reggie Alvarez, owner of C Motor Sports + Custom Airbrush & Hobby in Hammond, claimed a $21,000 top prize at the Louisiana Lottery Corporation's headquarters from a Black Jack scratch-off ticket.

Alvarez, age 49, was recently featured in a local publication for remaining in New Orleans during Hurricane Katrina to assist elderly neighbors who were unable to evacuate.  He now plans to give some of his winnings to his church.  He purchased his winning ticket at Circle K #2877 on North Morrison Boulevard in Hammond. 

Players must be at least 21 years of age to purchase a Lottery ticket.  The Lottery encourages anyone who has a gambling problem or friends and family of anyone with a gambling problem to call toll-free 1-877-770-7867 for help.
