Brunious said he regularly purchases Lotto "quick-pick" tickets, meaning he lets the Lottery terminal randomly select his numbers. He purchased his winning ticket from Exxon #53400 on Plank Road in Baton Rouge where he typically gets his coffee. The store will receive a one-time bonus of $21,023, or 1 percent of the jackpot for selling the winning ticket. A welder by trade for over 28 years, Brunious said he doesn't plan to retire yet. With his winnings, he said he will attend community college as well as help his family. Brunious received $1,471,676.56 after state and federal income tax withholdings. The winning numbers for the Dec. 13 Lotto drawing were 4-9-11-17-25-37. This drawing marked the 12th time the Lotto jackpot was won in 2006. The Lotto jackpot was last hit on Aug. 12, 2006.
