Greensburg Resident Claims $10,000 Prize from Sept. 26 Powerball Drawing
Jimmie Dell Billiot of Greensburg claimed $10,000 at the Louisiana Lottery Corporation headquarters from the Sept. 26 Powerball drawing.
Billiot, age 44, was working as a clerk at Bridges Oil Company on Highway 10 in Greensburg when she decided to check her ticket.
"I wasn't sure that I was reading it correctly, so I had a fellow clerk scan it for me," she explained. Billiot said she plans to use her winnings to pay bills and visit her grandchildren.
Billiot's Powerball ticket matched four of five white ball numbers plus the red Powerball number to win her prize.
"I play more scratch-offs than draw-style games so that I can explain them to my customers," she said. "I saw numbers on a television show and thought 'I am going to play those numbers', but I never believed they would win. I'll keep playing them, though, because you never know!"
The winning numbers for the Sept. 26 drawing were 25-27-31-44-54 and the Powerball number was 8.
