Many Lottery winners are quick to share their good fortune with friends and family. Spencer Comeaux plans to do just that with the $30,000 he won playing the Louisiana Lottery’s Cash Crazy Crosssword scratch-off. “I’m going to take a nice lady on a well deserved date,” he said.

Comeaux purchased his winning ticket at Corner Stop Shell in Breaux Bridge. He was the last player to claim a $30,000 top prize on the Cash Crazy Crossword game, which launched in July.

“I bought a ticket and didn’t play it until the next day,” said Comeaux when he visited the Lottery offices in Lafayette to collect his winnings. “It feels euphoric!” he added.

Lottery ticket purchasers must be at least 21 years of age. Scratch-off prizes must be claimed within 90 days of the announced closure of the game. Scratch-off games are closed when all of the top prizes in a game have been claimed, when all of the tickets in a game have been substantially sold or at the discretion of the Lottery's president.

For security purposes, the Lottery strongly encourages players to sign the back of their tickets immediately after purchasing.
