Corinthia Aples claimed the $1.9 million Louisiana Lottery Lotto jackpot from Saturday's drawing, the largest jackpot the game has seen in nearly seven years.

The 38-year-old Kenner resident's winning ticket matched all six numbers in the Oct. 19 Lotto drawing. The winning numbers were 07-11-18-38-39-40, numbers that Aples said were a combination of family birthdays and ages. Aples said she began playing Lotto a few months ago because she liked the odds for the in-state game.

Aples also said her sister, whom she fondly refers to as her assistant, actually purchased the ticket on her behalf. "She knew I won before I did!" Aples recalled.  She received $1,338,258 after state and federal tax withholdings.

The winning ticket was sold at Jasco #3 on Williams Boulevard in Kenner. The store will receive a selling bonus of $19,117, which is 1 percent of the prize.

Lottery ticket purchasers must be at least 21 years of age. Draw-style game tickets must be claimed within 180 days of the drawing. Anyone who may have a gambling problem or friends and family of anyone with a gambling problem should call toll free 1-877-770-7867 for help.

For security purposes, the Lottery strongly encourages players to sign the back of their tickets immediately after purchasing.
