Baton Rouge Woman Claims September Easy 5 Jackpot

Bobbye Donovan had big plans when she stopped by the Louisiana Lottery headquarters to claim her $360,000 Easy 5 jackpot prize from the Louisiana Lottery's Sept. 11 drawing.

"We might jump on a plane and head to Vegas on Friday," said Donovan. The 65-year-old Baton Rouge resident was out with friends on the night of the drawing and joked that she was heading home to win the Lottery."

Donovan's Quick Pick Easy 5 numbers were 05 - 17 - 21 - 24 - 37.  She received $252,000 after state and federal taxes were withheld and also won $1 for a separate play on the same ticket, which she purchased at K & D on N. Sherwood Forest Drive in Baton Rouge. The store will receive a one-time selling bonus of $3,600 which is 1 percent of the prize.

Lottery ticket purchasers must be at least 21 years of age. Draw-style game tickets must be claimed within 180 days of the drawing. Anyone who may have a gambling problem or friends and family of anyone with a gambling problem should call toll free 1-877-770-7867 for help.

For security purposes, the Lottery strongly encourages players to sign the back of their tickets immediately after purchasing. Easy 5 drawings are held every Wednesday and Saturday except for Christmas Day.
